- Liquid Glass® Deep Pour Epoxy is rated for pours up to 4 inches in a single pass. For voids or molds deeper than 4 inches, pour in multiple layers, allowing each layer to gel (approximately 14–16 hours) before adding the next. Pouring beyond the rated depth in a single pass can cause excessive heat buildup and may result in cracking, discoloration, or a cloudy cure.
- What is the mix ratio for Liquid Glass® Deep Pour?
- Liquid Glass® Deep Pour uses a 2:1 mix ratio — 2 parts resin to 1 part hardener, measured by volume. Accurate measurement is critical for a clear, hard cure. Use calibrated mixing cups and mix thoroughly for 3–5 minutes, scraping the sides and bottom of the container.
- How long does Liquid Glass® take to cure?
- At the recommended working temperature of 70–84°F, Liquid Glass® Deep Pour gels in approximately 14–16 hours and is ready to demold in 48–72 hours. Full hardness is reached over approximately 30 days. Do not expose the cured piece to heavy loads or heat until the full cure is complete.
- Will Liquid Glass® Deep Pour yellow over time?
- Liquid Glass® Deep Pour is UV-stabilized, meaning it contains UV inhibitors that significantly slow yellowing from light exposure. Under normal indoor lighting, it remains optically clear for years. No epoxy is completely immune to prolonged direct sunlight — UV stabilization slows but does not eliminate this process. For outdoor applications, additional UV-protective topcoats are recommended.
- What temperature do I need to use Liquid Glass® Deep Pour?
- The recommended working and curing temperature is 70–84°F. Below 70°F, the epoxy may cure slowly, remain tacky, or develop cloudiness. Above 84°F, the working time is reduced and the risk of overheating during cure increases. If your workspace is cooler than 70°F, warm the resin and hardener components to 75–80°F in a warm water bath before mixing.
- Can Liquid Glass® be used as a table top finish?
- Liquid Glass® Deep Pour is a casting and filling product, not a surface coating. For a final gloss surface finish, topcoat the cured Liquid Glass® pour with Superclear® Table Top Epoxy 1:1. The Table Top formula is self-leveling, designed for thin coats at up to ¼" per pass, and produces a mirror-like 150+ gloss unit finish over a fully cured deep pour base.
