- Deep pour epoxy resin is a low-viscosity epoxy formulated to cure in thick layers — typically 2 to 4 inches per pour — without cracking or overheating. It is used for river tables, live-edge slabs, large castings, and encapsulation projects where standard table top epoxy would require multiple thin pours.
- How deep can you pour Liquid Glass® Deep Pour Epoxy?
- Liquid Glass® Deep Pour Epoxy is rated for single-pass pours of 2 to 4 inches. The 4-inch ceiling applies under suitable conditions: correct temperature range (70–84°F), appropriate total mass, and adequate heat dissipation. Larger or heavier castings should stay toward the conservative end of that range.
- What is the mix ratio for deep pour epoxy resin?
- Liquid Glass® Deep Pour Epoxy uses a 2:1 mix ratio — 2 parts resin to 1 part hardener, measured by volume. Accurate measuring is critical; using a marked mixing cup or the Superclear Epoxy Calculator is recommended.
- How long does deep pour epoxy take to cure?
- Liquid Glass® Deep Pour Epoxy reaches demold hardness in 48 to 72 hours depending on temperature, mass, and mold geometry. Full cure and maximum hardness develop over approximately 30 days. Lower temperatures slow the reaction; higher temperatures or larger masses accelerate it.
- What temperature should I use for deep pour epoxy resin?
- Superclear recommends working within 70–84°F for Liquid Glass® Deep Pour Epoxy. For large or maximum-depth pours, bias toward the cooler end of that range — higher temperature combined with large mass accelerates the reaction and increases heat buildup. Pouring outside the recommended range can cause soft cure, cloudiness, cracking, or yellowing.
- How is deep pour epoxy different from table top epoxy?
- Deep pour epoxy resin is formulated for thick single pours (2–4 inches), while table top epoxy is designed for thin coats (up to ¼ inch per layer). Deep pour epoxy has a lower exotherm — it generates less heat as it cures — which allows thick pours without cracking. Table top epoxy is better for surface coatings, sealing, and finishing coats.

It has the best clarity of everything we tested and seems to have the least amount of bubbles. The biggest benefit is the ability to pour deeper than most other brands so we can pour pieces over 1" thick in a single pour, saving time.
